School Field Trips

Join our interpretive nature guide through one of the world’s most ecologically unique ecosystems. School tours address grade specific Core Competencies and include Plants and Animals, Habitats and Ecosystems, Biodiversity and Species at Risk, Natural History and First Nations as well as Threats and Stewardship.  All tours can be customized to meet a groups’ specific needs.

Available in both English and French!

Duration: 2.5 hours

Distance: 3 km

Ages/Grade: Suitable and adapted for all ages (K-Gr.12)

Cost: $150/class (max 30 students)

Mobile Workshops

Can’t come to Burns Bog? Why not bring Burns Bog to YOU! We are now offering mobile workshops to be delivered at the convenience of your school or facility.  The 1-hour workshops are fully hands-on and interactive, with displays, activities, and demonstrations to reinforce ideas about Burns Bog and Peatlands.  The material in the workshops align with BC School Curriculum Core Competencies.

Topics include:

  • Wetland and Peatland Environments
  • Habitats
  • Ecosystems
  • Biodiversity and Species at Risk
  • Natural History
  • First Nations
  • Importance and Threats of peatlands
  • Stewardship and Conservation


Duration: 1 hour

Age/Grade: Suitable and adapted for all ages and grades (kindergarten to seniors)

Cost: $125 per workshop (max 30 studenta)

Workshops are suitable for all ages and can be fully customized to meet your groups’ needs.
